God Carries Our Burdens

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He shall sustain you” (Psalm 55:22).

Dear Praying Friends:

We all have burdens and cares that are weighing us down and wearing us out.

These might include the burdens and cares of work, relationships, family, finances, health, sorrows and grief – ours or others’ – anxiety and fear for ourselves, our loved ones, and this wretched, suffering world.

What can we do with these loads? Surely, we can’t keep carrying them ourselves. That hasn’t worked, and it never will. Nor can we expect others to bear them for us. Even if they want to, they can’t really take them from us.

Praise God! He is both willing and able to lift our loads and carry them himself.

All we have to do is to present them to him, ask him to relieve us of our unbearable load, and uphold us as we go on seeking to do his will.

But we must do this in faith, trusting in his promises, which were sealed by the blood of Jesus on Good Friday and validated forever on that glorious Resurrection Day.

“[Cast] all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).

Yours in his constant care,
Wright
