“Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:18-20).

The Holy Spirit
Over the past fifty years, God has done a mighty work in China. The number of Christ’s followers in China has grown from about one million in 1950 to perhaps one hundred million, or more.
Some observers point to social, economic, and political factors driving this immense movement, but those most familiar with the events all say that the Holy Spirit has been the principal actor.
Doing God's Will
At the beginning of his ministry, Jesus taught his disciples to pray, “Your will be done” (Matthew 6:10).
At the end, just before he was betrayed, he asked that the cup of God’s wrath be taken from him, but, otherwise, “Not as I will, but as You will” (Matthew 26:39).
As we start a new year, we often make resolutions to do better, or more, than last year. Usually, I fall far short of my expectations and plans.
Looking Back on 2022
“The LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place” (Deuteronomy 1:31).
“Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 63:9).
“Thus far the LORD has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12).
As I (Wright) look back at 2022, gratitude fills my heart. Indeed, the Lord has carried us, borne us upon eagle’s wings, delivered us, and helped us.
My Sin and My Savior
The older I get, the more I need a Savior. That is to say, as the years pass, I understand better why Paul confessed, “I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing” (Romans 7:17).
Especially since my last physical breakdown in 2018, God has kindly showed me more clearly both the extent and the enormity of my sin.
